Gay Football Teams
London
Romans Football Club Basically we train on Sundays at
1.30pm at Finsbury Park, North London. These sessions are
usually led by a qualified coach. They usually last about 2
hours and are well attended. Our home matches take place in
Wood Green, North London and we play away matches all accross
London. We hope to play in 1 or 2 games outside London this
season as this usually means a good social. We play a mixture
of friendlies and in the London Unity Football League which
has about 5 teams. We also play in tournaments and cups
throughout the year. Our team is quite mixed. We have players
who are black/white/Asian etc and any new player must respect
everyone's background. We also play against some majority gay
teams. We actively encourage the FA's kick homophobia out of
football and kick racism out of football campaigns. Any new
player would be expected to uphold this tradition.
LLKA
(London Lesbian Kickabouts)is a non-commercial,
non-money-making concern based on the goals of social,
non-cliquey football, co-operation and open access to all
lesbians who want to play. You are free to come to any events
you want to and not bother with any you don't want to come to.
You are welcome to attend regularly or "dip" in and out of the
events as your time allows you. Events are always free unless
we have to hire pitches to play on - the maximum anyone is
asked to pay is £2.50 per game. There are no membership fees
or other subscription costs. Games where we don't have to hire
a pitch are free. We have all standards of footballing ability
from beginners upwards to very good players with all levels in
between. It doesn't matter what level of skill you do or do
not have - the emphasis of the events is about playing
football in a friendly and sociable environment - whatever
your level of skill. We also play matches against other teams
as well as participating in tournaments in the UK and abroad. |
